We won Best Brewing Pub Co for the 2nd year running at the The Morning Advertiser Publican Awards! We were up against some incredible competition and are still in shock! What a massive compliment and a credit to how hard the team have worked at the brewery over the past year.

Up coming events

***Party Time!!!***
On Saturday 31st March, we will be hosting our first ever ALL-DAY CROWLER CLUB PARTY!  Crowler Club members, get it in your diary! Forecasts are predicting music, beer, films, beer, tacos, beer, seminars, beer. Did we mention beer? To join the Crowler Club, please click here: https://brasscastle.co.uk/crowler/

We're delighted to have picked up SIBA regional gold awards for Helles (standard strength keg lager & pilsner category) and Misfit (standard strength keg pale ales and bitters category), and then for Misfit to earn silver at National level.  Misfit is our 4.3% rolling hop-swap pale ale, showcasing various hop pairings.  Our head brewer Alan really enjoys brewing Misfit, always looking forward to see how each combination turns out. On March 8th we joined brewers across the globe in the fifth annual International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day.  On the day, our team of seven ladies braved the Arctic weather to join us to brew a 4.0% Mango IPL, which will be available through April.

Earlier that week we were joined for a collaborative brew by Stuart and Dave from George and Dragon in Hudswell, CAMRA National Pub of 2017.  Between us we've concocted Death By Toffee, a 4.8% sticky toffee pudding inspired brown ale.  This has just started leaving our cold store, so sure to find its way to a bar near you soon.

In April we are launching our first ever kettle sour; RhüBerlin is a 4.0% rhubarb Berliner Weiss made with fresh Yorkshire rhubarb, with a sharp tart finish, so too will be 440ml cans of Disruptor, our devilishly drinkable 7.4% New England style IPA.

Last month we hosted our inaugural 10 mini beer festival, during which The Kernel Brewery took over our Tap house for the day showcasing some of their stunning ales, whilst we opened our former Tap room and rolled out the piano bar for plenty more ales of our own.  Smokin' Blues BBQ parked up and provided great street food, and one of our Tap House open-mic favourites Graeme Hargreaves entertained all with a couple of sets.  There was a cracking turn out, and the vibe was so lively that England's capitulation in the rugby that after almost went unnoticed.

Getting our and about, on 29th April we're looking forward to a trip up the iconic Stalybridge Buffet Bar who have kindly offered us their taps.

We were delighted to once again get down to our trade body SIBA's annual BeerX event in Liverpool recently. As always it was great to catchup with some of our beery friends but the icing on the cake was definitely a Silver national SIBA award for Keras (4.1% American Pale) in Cask Champion Best Bitters and Pale Ales category.

Work continues on trying to secure planning for our Street Food Kitchen on what was the boxing gym adjacent to our brewery tap room. We are hopefully of a decision in early April. One thing is for sure, those attending our 2nd bday party on Fri 13th and/or 14th April will get a sneak peak of the space as we will be using the under development space to host the bars of our guest breweries for the occasion. As a reminder we expect it to be one hell of a party as we are being joined by Fierce Beer, Mad Hatter, Electric Bear, People Like Us and last but certainly not least Magic Rock Brewing.

The party will play host to over 50 unique beers including 8 new releases of our own. These releases include ‘Sweet Gin Music’ a botanical pale ale we’ve just brewed with Cooper King Distillery who will be joining us with a stand at the bday party to bring you info about their exciting new distillery. Also being launched is Whiskey Barrel Aged Kodiak (10.7% Imperial Stout) and the latest in the Tonkoko series, Empress Tonkoko (10.6%). Both 'People Like Us’ (Denmark) and ‘Spotlight Brewing’ (Goole) who will be joining us for the party are either run by or work with those with autism so to champion their causes money will be being raised throughout the birthday celebrations for the National Autism Society.

Combine all of that with great food from Street Cleaver, Ball Box, great vegan options from Once Across the Garden and our usual blend of DJ’s and great live music and it’s sure to be a party to remember.

If you want to jump the queues tickets for the birthday party can be purchased in advance from: https://sales.webticketmanager.com/default.aspx?companyid=1713&eventid=14154

Not ones to waste and opportunity so we’ll be knocking out some great ‘fruity’ collabs with both Fierce Beer and People Like Us while they are in town. A collab with Electric Bear (and one hopefully with Mad Hatter) will follow later in the year.

We hope to see many of you along for the festivities.

Quirky Ales ImageQuirky Ales

We've brewed two beers for the Harewood Food and Drink Project; a rhubarb beer and also an Elderflower pale. We are a small business that like to play with flavours and styles as our kit gives us the opportunity to experiment, and we're looking forward to more potential experimentation using the other produce grown on the Harewood estate.

Having first met the Harewood Food & Drink Project  team 12 months ago, we were immediately impressed by their passion for the project and their knowledge of beer. It's also prestigious for a new business such as ourselves to be connected to the Harewood brand.
