Half Moon BreweryHALF MOON

We’ve finally commissioned our new fermenter ‘Bertha’- fittingly with a Stout!   Fantastic to have the flexibility to play with more beer styles.

It’s a busy run into the festive season. Joe from The Falcon Tap recently spent a day brewing a special for their Winter Beer Festival running from the 30th Nov - 3rd Dec.  Details of the beer are under wraps until the festival so pop down and check it out.

Good beer needs good, well run pubs in which to sell it. We’re incredibly proud that our beers are always available in the Camra award winning pubs for our region. Find our beer in the George & Dragon, Hudswell, (National pub of the year)  The Whalebone, Hull, (Hull Camra pub of the year) and Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield (Camra pub of the year and Yorkshire pub of the year.)

Join the North Brewing Co crew at The King & Co (SW4 7BZ) for a 'Best of (the) North' takeover featuring the likes of Sputnik Pale Ale and award-winning Transmission IPA, plus plenty of other specials and surprises! Thursday 7th December.

The 25th November saw our 2nd birthday, Happy Birthday to us! All the best things come in pairs and to celebrate we have not one but two new birthday beers . A delicious birthday mosaic IPA (7%) and a new Kiwi sour (4.1%).

We've been brewing-up some of our favourite wintry beers, that means a welcome return for our Black Forest stout, alongside an entirely new Weizenbock beer.  The full line-up of festive cask beers is now available: Starlight (3.6%), Snow Eater (3.8%) and Christmas Kitty (5.5%).  This year's Christmas bottled special beer is Betelgeuse (pronounced 'Beetlejuice', so don't say it three times in quick succession!) - a raspberry and beetroot soured ale.  It comes in our venerable 750ml bottle, while our gluten-free can collection is now available in a snazzy 6-pack mix pack.  All of which - will of course be available at our Malton Taphouse.

Having all that beer ready is just as well - because we're celebrating the recent York Press Business Awards, where Brass Castle won 'Socially Responsible Business of the Year'.  We're super-thrilled about this award, as it recognises that we're trying to run our brewery in the right way, through initiatives that develop strong links within the local community, raising money for charity, making best environmental use of our spent grain and hops, employing apprentices etc.  Social responsibility has always been important to us in the way we go about our business, and we are delighted that those efforts have been noted.
